Do I need a Land Rover?
Yes, after all, this a Land Rover club!
Our constitution is centred on owning, appreciating and driving Land Rovers - so it is not surprising that everyone in the club has one and just about everyone goes on club runs in (one of!) them.
However we do appreciate that from time to time you might not be able to drive your vehicle or not have it roadworthy. If you then want to go on a club run in a vehicle of another marque we prefer that you ask the club president or the trip leader/organiser if it would be OK. It is preferred that this doesn't happen too many times.
Don't be surprised sometimes if you see a trip or run labelled "Land Rovers Only" . This will be the choice of the trip leader/organiser for that run. A huge chunk of the enjoyment we get is seeing a flock of Land Rovers out on runs.
Guests:
We do not mind members' guests coming along in their own vehicle for a run on an occasional basis - that is, as long as the guest is in their own Land Rover!
If your guest has another vehicle then please don't be offended if the leader or club president says "no"
In summary, think about trying to ask the Rolls-Royce Owners club if you can join in a run with your Holden...
Exceptions: Annual Training Day
Each year we hold the Bernie Fraser Memorial Training Day. This is the one day we do open our doors to all guests and friends of members, regardless of marque.
When the day is over we always have comments like "we're going to buy one" or "We're going to get an older one so we can join you in the mud!"
