Out with the old, In with the new :)
Sunday 26th I get a txt from John Harvey. It's good news! My Recovery points are ready to be fitted on the P38 Range Rover.
This is actually quite exciting because the standard recovery point is crap and I had no chance of going on any decent 4wd outings. We removed the bumper which is always pretty easy (2 bolts and 2 clips). John and Brian had allready made the units and we just had to do some last minute angle grinding. :) (Below is standard recovery point for P38. Pretty average for a 4wd)
So once we had this old point off we were able to fit up the new ones and test measurements etc
As you can see it's quite an improvment on the old points and it makes me feel 100% more confident that I can be towed out without shooting a hook through someones rear window. The new recovery points stick out a liitle past the bumper. Brian reckons it's perfect becuase you could put the airbags on the lowest setting, drive under the back of someones car, raise the suspension to the max and move them out the way. I Like alot!!!

Above : the finished product. I'm really happy with the work done and would recommend anyone who has joined the club to get in touch with John or Brian if they need any custom work done. Good to have someone who is prepared to do a good job for a good price. Thanks heaps guys! Brad
