Santa's Sandy Saturday Night Fever 19 December

A huge turnout of four trucks (Phew!) headed North for some sand and sun on Saturday afternoon. Three squares (Leonard, Lowly and NineT) plus Ray W in his Rectangle went far from the madding crowd to set up camp all prepared for a next-day mega explore.

As one can see, we were lit up like the proverbial. Rob 'just happened' to have two sets of self-contained battery-powered LED Crimbo lights!

Very atmospheric - and it all helped to ease the copious glasses of water down with our steak, chicken, salad, potatoes and garlic onion rings (Nigel decided he would only have rice though...)

NEW ADDITIONS:

These pics in from Nigel NineT:

Just about to open the first of the bottles of water...

Another awful day in Paradise.

-----------

On with little story:

It was clear, starry and a new moon was sighted sinking into the nearby ocean. The NorWesterly breeze was a trifling nusiance until it brought the gentle drizzle during the night!

We knew Ray would be leaving early - but testament to the excellent dinner, neither Rob or I heard his 300Tdi start up - and it was only a foot or so away from the tents.

Dry patch to left of Leonard was where Ray had parked...

But- with the fire re-awakened we whipped up a huge repast, all done on the Club's Mega-Plate...

Chef Parker tossing our bananas...

You'll notice a distinct lack of ocean behind Nigel - the drizzle and low cloud had truly set in - so much so that we bailed out just a couple of hours before HW!

Naturally, just some 2 hours later the whole region basked in brilliant sunshine - ah well - them's the breaks. It was good to get away - even if just for one night :))

Thanks to Rob for all the hard organisational stuff (!).

and one last one: The Avian pervert (Percy) which seems to hang around in the back of Leonard these days
