NOTES:
ARC Rangers will be co-ordinating the Te Rau Puriri planting on the 18th April and have asked the NZ4WDA for assistance with club trucks and volunteers.
This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside the ARC Parks Service and local conservation volunteers
MEETING PLACE:
8am Waimauku Park N Ride.
Kick off at 9am at Te Rau Puriri Regional Park; shearing shed just pass farm house, 2911 South head road; South Head.
Uplift plants and move to planting site. Number of plants approx 5,000.
Clubs to assist in moving these plants to the site. Park Rangers will have 4WD vehicles and trailers as well.
Plant alongside other planting groups from local area.
Individuals will be able to rest/take breaks as required for morning tea etc. We will take our Club tent.
ARC will provide a BBQ and juice for lunch.
Continue planting after lunch as required or if necessary.
Finish approx 2-3 o clock even earlier if all plants are in the ground, do a 4WD around farm. Grade 1 trip with magnificent views of the Kaipara Harbour, maybe go to the beach for a swim if you like so bring togs towels etc, then call it quits for the day.
Should be a great day.
Grade 1, all tyres, spare seats and trailers a plus. Everyone on board should bring a spade and be up for planting trees and spinnafex.
