Safety Check Day 21 Feb 2010
A great success overall - 50 vehicles 'processed' by our intrepid team of scruters. Everyone was fully fired up to make sure
their vehicles did indeed come up to spec and learnt the ins and outs of the 8.8, 10.9 and 12.4 high tensile bolts (the more MPa the better!)

The Great White's nether regions are closely inspected by John Harvey - with an absorbed audience...
Meanwhile Tim Warburton and Brian Harvey were doing the same to the flood tide of Defenders, 90s 110s, Forward Controls (well, only the one..) Series Is , IIs and IIIs, D1s, D2s (and a D3 ) plus assorted RR Classics in all their guises.
All morning our Fireman (from National Fire Protection) was slaving over piles of extinguishers, most of them being returned with nice new clipped labels. Those who didn't have them or needed upgrades were able, thanks to Brett "Open All Hours" Whyte, to buy new ones.

and here's Brett brazenly dangling his wares in order to tempt the eager punters to part with their $$$
Stickers issued on the day were:
4 x Grade 1
12 x Grade 2
and the rest, some 35 or so were Grade 3...
There were several which didn't make the grade but only because a few bolts or a brackety thing or two were not quite up to job - just a simple matter to fix for a quick second check later on.
If you missed the event, please contact Tim Warburton, Brian Harvey or John Harvey and make arrangements with them for your checkup.
Alternatively, our next 'public' checkup day will be on 21 March (Training Day)

Dave Findlay tries for a Grade 3 sausage from the BBQ but finds he need more lift - John Hewitt obliges...

Veronika's 110 about to be tackled by Rob & Jeremy "The Tool- Tip Men"

John Hickey's truck trembles in anticipation as John Harvey wields his powerful tool...

Tim Warburton goes down on Andrew's workhorse while our Security Patrol keeps the crowds at bay.

Everyone drooled over this '53 ex-Army S1.
Thanks to Neil for the venue, Brett Whyte for the pocket shopping mall and especially to the intrepid scruters for all their hard work during the day :))
