Driving 4 Hearts
February 16 @ 9:00 am - 12:30 pm
HAMILTON TO AUCKLAND CONVOY SUNDAY 16-FEB-25
Starting at the end of January 2025, Dr Julian Paton will be driving awareness of Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD). Rheumatic Heart Disease destroys the lives of around 1,400 children in New Zealand each year.
To bring attention to this devastating disease and raise research funds for the cure and prevention - Dr Paton, with the support of Land-Rover New Zealand - will be completing a journey from Dunedin in the south, to Auckland in the north, in New Zealand’s oldest Land-Rover ‘R860020' - production car 20 off the assembly line in Solihull in 1948.
This is a charity run - so please give generously at https://www.justgiving.com/page/drive4hearts...
To support our club member, the Land-Rover Owners Club Auckland will be joining Julian on his journey from Hamilton to Auckland on Sunday 16-Feb-25 – leaving from the Waikato Land-Rover Dealership Ebbett Hamilton 49 Te Kowhai East Road, Hamilton at 09:00am
Everyone is welcome to join in but this is STRICTLY LAND-ROVER VEHICLES ONLY – ALL MODELS ARE VERY WELCOME
This convoy is the fifth and last Convoy of FIVE planned nationally to support Julian and R860020 in a Convoy of Land-Rover supporters to accompany him on the last part of his long journey north from Dunedin.
All events are listed on the Land-Rover Series 1 Enthusiasts, New Zealand Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/groups/392058454269566
Our first stop on our way north will be at the Hampton Downs Motorsport Park for a photo opportunity. This location about half way between Hamilton and Auckland allows Hamilton folk to head back south – or Auckland folk to meet us there to travel back north – but everyone is very welcome to drive the full trip.
The second half of the journey will be departing from Hampton Downs Motorsport Park at 10:30am to head to Ellerslie Racecourse, 100 Ascot Avenue, Remuera, Auckland.
Distance is 64km and should take about 1 hour.
For catering purposes - please register for this event.

Hi. I’m not a member, although keen to come along in my defender 90 td5.
Shame on of my series 2A’s are not quite road legal!
They should really be going Raglan to port Waikato route, and Klondyke Rd 😉
All the best
Cheers Ben Johns
