Ahuroa - Fund Raiser - November 2015

Ahuroa: Volunteer Fire Brigade fundraiser weekend - 14/15 November 2015

Yet another great event put on by the Rodney Off Road Club, fundraising for the Ahuroa Volunteer Fire Brigade... These guys managed to wrangle 80 trucks and a couple of hundred people, feeding, entertaining  and guiding them over several hundred hectares of spectacular  farmland with nary a glitch in sight.

Pig Farm August 2015

A record run in about 2.5 hours! Just five of us ripped through the tracks; that's not say we had any 'stoppages' ! Even in the first 500m of the track we all had grief. Shaun give us some fun moments diving into water that even Jacques Cousteau would have baulked at!

Maratoto - March 2015

Maratoto - March 2015 - from Ray

key words:  cyclone pam, category 5 , maratoto, landrover, mud!

We had 4 trucks initially.   But by the time I had mucked about figuring whether  to go ahead we were down to two .  Craig in his new Disco 1 Tdi with recently fitted side under and front protection and the my white open ( to the weather and rain)  Defender.

Possum Palace - New Year 2015

It was a Great way to start the year. For those who have never been there is open farmland, muddy bogs galore and plenty of tree sections for tight stuff. The run of the day was up Goat Track to the highest point on the property that allows sea views across to the Hen and Chicks to the east and impressive country scenery all around. Not to be missed..

Christmas Run 2014

What a cracker day! - and we did manage to get off-road... Eighteen trucks gathered at Cornwall Park, some fully dressed, some overdressed and some with just their proper LR finery showing cool. Stand outs were the Hickeys and the Smiths who also got themselves dressed up all fancy too.

Muriwai Beach Clean Up - October 2014

A good show once again for the Land Rover Club supporting Auckland Council and the NZFWDA (via The Auckland 4WD Club) for this annual event. 12 LRs! (but we may have missed one or two). Wild and windy with 6m swells and a SW'ly keeping the high tide, high.

No exciting trash finds but plenty of fish-smelly stuff and the usual bottles, plastic, rope, jandals, car seats etc.
